Gyros Pizza Fusion — Restaurant Ordering & Kitchen Management
Online orders, walk-in orders and table reservations landing on one kitchen screen.
A restaurant taking orders through a website, over the counter, and by phone ends up running three systems that don't know about each other. The kitchen works from printed dockets for some orders and shouted instructions for others, so nobody can say what's actually outstanding. Table reservations live in a paper book that the online side can't see. And a menu price that changes leaves historical orders showing the new figure, so yesterday's takings no longer reconcile.
A Django platform putting every order channel into one queue. Customers browse the menu by category, add to a cart and check out online; staff enter walk-in and phone orders through a dedicated offline-order screen; both land in the same kitchen list, with an archive so completed orders leave the active view without disappearing. Orders carry a type and a status, so delivery and dine-in are distinguishable and each order's progress is visible. Line items snapshot the price at the time of ordering, so a later menu change never rewrites what a past order cost. Table records with capacity drive reservations, and payments are recorded against orders with the method used. Customers can view their own order status through a public detail link without needing an account.
Outcome
A single ordering system covering the restaurant's online, counter and phone trade, with the kitchen working from one live list instead of three sources. Menu, categories and availability are managed by the restaurant directly, table reservations sit in the same system as the orders, and historical order totals stay accurate because prices are captured at the moment of sale.
